Data protection has been an essential part of the work from home experience. As workers transitioned to working from home, cybersecurity risks rose. Organizations must actively work to reduce the risk of cybersecurity threats to both data and critical systems. Cybersecurity threats can present themselves through weak passwords, phishing emails, USB use for document storage, and outdated software. These risks can be addressed by creating a culture of awareness, effective communication, incidence response plans, targeted protections for high-value data, compliance with laws and regulations, and diligence when choosing third party service providers.
