The term human rights covers a lot of ground from fair labor and anti-slavery to equal opportunity and inclusion efforts to access to the basic fundamentals and freedoms of life. Social justice, health and safety, the right to privacy and freedom of expression have recently shared the spotlight. Commitments to human rights issues are often interwoven in a company’s values, policies, regulatory compliance, governance and social responsibility activities. It touches the lives of many of a company’s stakeholder groups – employees, supply chain, customers and community. To understand how companies are prioritizing actions on human rights issues today and the drivers that influence this work, this panel will discuss their company’s approach to prioritizing select human rights issues for their business, committing to measurable actions and the role of the ethics and compliance leadership in supporting those efforts.
