Many ethics and compliance teams were built with people who have strong legal or risk backgrounds. Roles and responsibilities were defined by traditional compliance risk or process areas. But that is changing. Different skills and experience are required for compliance teams to successfully deploy interventions in rapidly changing business environments. The use of data, technology, and analytics is increasing as is cross-functional collaboration. Compliance professionals must understand the language of data and finance. They need greater interpersonal and communication skills and a nimble mindset to change along with their roles. This panel will discuss approaches to hiring for and developing the skills on their teams and how they organize the roles within their compliance programs to meet their needs now with an eye toward the future.
